good grief
The studio · Henry Gosper and Cam Trafford

We go looking for the remarkable in the unexpected and the overlooked.

Good Grief is a director-led studio in Naarm, Melbourne. Two directors, ten years, one habit: pointing the camera at the thing everyone else walks past.

Our first feature, Water for Birds, followed a marginalised community in India and took Best Melbourne Documentary in 2023. The same patience shows up when the client is Nike or Aesop. We treat a thirty second commercial like a small documentary about the thing it sells.

Everything we shoot lands in scope, 2.39:1, and gets graded by hand. Cold when the story is quiet, warm when it needs to sing. That range is the whole point.
